Dr. Laverty

Dr. Kristine H. Laverty, who retired in 2016, founded the Applied Neuropsychology Institute in order to provide in-depth diagnoses of cognitive, social, and emotional challenges. With an emphasis on assisting adults, as well as children and their parents, understand their neurological make up, she helped them focus on how to integrate and leverage their patterns of strengths and weaknesses in order to build a more successful life. She encouraged them to carry this focus into into learning environments, into the work place, and into the many relationships of life. Her work was always based on the philosophy that everyone belongs, is equally valuable, and must be treated with respect and support.

Dr. Laverty developed her expertise in neuropsychology during a 45 year career as a Clinical Neuropsychologist, Clinical Psychologist, Marriage and Family Therapist, and professor.  She was also the founding owner of The Family and Learning Center in La Jolla, California. This center continues to provide an innovative intervention and training program to address the effects of learning disabilities and other cognitive differences.
